The idea for Tiny Fleet Parties started with my own grandchildren—and a question: what else could we do for a children's birthday party?
They had been to some brilliant parties at large trampoline and soft play venues in Weston super mare and Bristol, But as more children in their classes celebrated birthdays, they were returning to the same places over and over again, three, four or five times, often until the whole class had been several times.
Eventually, they had had enough of going back to one particular venue in Bristol. They had enjoyed it, but they wanted something different.
That got me thinking.
A different kind of party, closer to home
As parents and grandparents, we want birthdays to feel special. But a party further afield can involve quite a bit of organising: arranging lifts, coordinating parents, travelling to the venue and getting everyone home again. The costs can add up, too.
There are already some lovely options for parties closer to home, from bouncy castles to entertainers and discos. I wondered what we could bring that would give children a completely different experience.
What if we brought the excitement to you?
Something you could host in a local village hall or, in fine, dry summer weather, your own suitable garden. Something full of things to discover, operate, build and imagine.
We cover Weston super mare, Congresbury, Clevedon, Nailsea, Backwell, Portishead, Burnham, Brean, Bristol and further.
That was the beginning of Tiny Fleet Parties.
Our approach? Go big or go home
Once we started imagining the party, we knew we wanted to go all out.
For me, the machinery had to be the 'wow' moment—the moment children arrive, spot the vehicles and can hardly decide what to try first.
We wanted premium, electric ride-on machinery they would be thrilled to drive and operate, alongside a generous collection of building materials, tools and props. Enough to create a little world they could step into, with plenty to explore beyond simply taking a turn on a vehicle.
(We bring a lot of equipment, thats why it can take up to an hour to set up!)
Construction felt like the perfect first theme because there is so much variety. Diggers, bulldozers, backhoes, tractors and trailers, a delivery lorry and other vehicles all bring something different to the play.
One child might be busy making a delivery while another is moving building materials or getting to work on their next construction project. That is what excited me: giving children the equipment and space to create their own little stories.
A mini construction site at your venue
Our Little Builders experience brings together electric machinery, ride-on vehicles, building materials, power tools and props to turn your space into a mini construction site.
We come to your venue, unload, set up and set the scene. When the party finishes, we pack everything away and take it with us.
You arrange the venue and supervise the children during play, but the equipment and construction setting are taken care of. You can enjoy watching them get stuck in without having to source, transport and set up everything yourself.
We also supply party invitations as a PDF, and each little builder receives a Tiny Fleet Parties driving licence to take home.
I wanted children to leave with a little keepsake of their experience. If you would rather skip traditional party bags, their licence gives them something to take home and remember the day by.
Who is it for?
Our parties are aimed at children aged 3–7 for getting the most from the Little Builders experience, younger guests are welcome and we can provide age appropriate push alongs.
If you have one or two slightly older guests, please ask us before booking. Some vehicles can accommodate older children, and we can explain which would be suitable based on each machine's size and weight limits.
Children enjoy different parts of the experience, too. Some head straight for the driving, while others love the tools, building materials and imaginative play. We wanted plenty of variety so there is more than one way to join in.
It doesn't have to be a birthday
Although birthdays inspired the business, I can also imagine Tiny Fleet Parties being a wonderful way to bring children together for a special play date or family celebration.
It does not have to involve an elaborate party tea or a long list of extras. The play can be the main event: a space full of machinery, building materials and possibilities, ready for the children to enjoy.
Why Tiny Fleet Parties?
Because I wanted to offer something my own grandchildren would be excited to arrive at.
Something different from the places they already knew. Something imaginative, with fabulous machinery and enough detail to make the whole experience feel special.
That is why we decided to go big or go home. We wanted to bring the kind of fleet that makes children's eyes light up—and then give them the chance to climb aboard, get involved and become little builders themselves.
We bring the fleet, set the scene and pack it all away afterwards. You bring the little builders.
